Bam bam I want hats!
I am massively enjoying seeing new and exciting designs on the high street! Hats are more daring, with more personality and definitely more colours!
The art of wearing a hat is very simple, let the hat pick you. Kind of like that hat from Harry Potter that chooses for you, but without all the talking.
Whenever I wear a hat I take in a whole new personality. Hats are alter ego accessories. Be a spy, a sexy vixen, a crazy emo.. be whatever!
Felt Floppy with contrast band, 28gbp Accessorise |
I have been watching too much Pan Am lately, i love the clothes and the music. The storyline is not amazing, but the clothes are. This hat reminds me of what my life would have been like if I was a glamorous Pan Am girl in the 60s.. sigh....
Knotted bow trim cloche, 28gbp Accessorise |
One of the advantages of living in a big city like London is that you can get away with almost anything. This cassack hat is perfect. You don't have to be tall and blonde to wear it. See? Pan Am flashbacks again!
Leopard Faux Fur Cassack hat, 22gbp Oliver Bonas |
And my guilty pleasure this week is this beautiful Miu Miu hat. It's like Robin Hood meets Hamptons horse rider. Any takers?
Embellished rabit-felt cap, 240 gbp Miu Miu |
Once again, I have proven that there is something for everybody. So, tonight I might be a traveller from far away.. how about you??

WAH Nails
I already know what I'm doing for my birthday. I will treat myself and maybe a lucky friend, to a new set of nails.
WAH Nails is the most amazing place ever. It is like nail heaven, with talented artists and designers creating stunning and crazy works of art in nails.
It all started in 2005, when Central Saint Martins graduate Sharmadean Reid, decided to start doing nails. She calls it 'street smart feminism'. I like that, I like that a lot.
So, for years WAH nails has been creating new designs and taking them everywhere. They have two shops, one in Dalston and one in Topshop in Oxford Circus. They have done nails at the Brits, in Japan, in cars, oh.. and the Grand Prix.
Check it out. This is what London is all about!
Kudos!

OMG Oktoberfest!
Forgive me !
I completely forgot about Oktoberfest! Damn, now I get why a few of my 'alcoholic acquaintances' have stopped talking to me. I forgot about the most important drinking time of the year... sigh..
To make it up to everybody, I am taking them to the Bavarian Beer House in City Road. This place is Germany, I swear.
The Bavarian Beer house has been hosting Oktoberfest for 8 years in a row. With live Bavarian music, lots of German beer and sexy waitresses in traditional dresses it is a night to remember.
The price is 14.50gbp, with a stein of beer included, but hey, entry is free every Wednesday!

Musical Bingo Halloween Spectacular @ Concrete
I am sure this is the best event I've heard of in a long time. Musical Bingo is something I have never heard about before, but damn now I wanna play. I wanna play all night..!
Concrete will be hosting this evening of fun and music. The entry is 4 quid, so there is no way you can say no once I explain how it works.
The Halloween part is quite simple, you dress up and they give prizes to the 'Most Innovative', 'Most Outrageous' and 'Most Horrific' dress ups.
Musical Bingo is like bingo, but with music. They will play a song, you will have a card and when the song stops you have to mark it on your card, if you know the song of course. The people who organise this event are always very keen on making people have a good time, so I guarantee it will be a good option for Halloween night.
Spooks and tunes!
Let's do this!!!!!! Xx

Dead Popstar Rockaoke @ the Bedroom Bar
Now, this is something I might attend...
The Bedroom Bar in Shoreditch is hosting a very 'different' Halloween night. There will be the usual drinking and dancing involved, but this time things are dead, popstar dead..
This party invites all its guests to dress as your favourite dead rockstar or popstar. The choice is infinite, and if you are not too sure, there will be make up artists at the venue to make sure you look extra spooky.
Tickets are 10gbp, but all earnings will go to Crisis, a charity for homeless people.
Have fun and help others, you know it's the way to go!
Kudos! Xx... I can already see all the Amys and the Kurts..

Last Tuesday Society Halloween Ball
Although the tickets are completely sold out, I thought I'd write about this event for future reference.
The Last Tuesday Society is one of my favourites, because it explores the esoteric in London, and well, that's me... esoteric!
The ball this year will be incredible. With a 'devil's playground' full of popcorn and candy floss, and amazing dj sets to party the ghosts away.
The catch is that, wearing a mask is a must. They don't care if you show up naked, well or with body paint, as long as you wear a mask.
this party promises to be a sophisticated feast for all the senses and a night to never forget.
Kudos Last Tuesday Society!

Dracula Tour of London
To all my spookalicious out there:
There is a Dracula tour of London! How come I never hear about these things? I'm glad I did now, because I have my Halloween plans sorted!
The tour is based on the Dracula novel, in a house in Highgate where the 'fangalicious' used to live during his London times..
Ok, if this sounds too Twilight, just wait because vampires are not the only thing! Let's not forget about the ghosts of Highgate cemetery and the crazy Satanists of Highgate woods! This tour covers everything!
To finish the evening, there is a banquet in the house and if my sources are right, there is blood on the menu..
The tour happens daily except Mondays so book it now!!!

jinxed..
Ok, so how cool is this song? I have always been a massive Kooks fan, and even though their latest album is not their greatest, it does have amazing songs. My favourite is Runaway, I mean, having Luke singing 'you make me run away angel'.. ohh my freakin' fudge, how hot is that?
So, let's undress to Runaway. Whatcha say??
ps. love the beat at 2.15 min.

Toffee Apple Cupcakes
Every year I get excited about Halloween and the day of the Dead, but I never put enough effort.
This year, I am preparing in advance, with all my recipes for treats, and my list of events ready on my desk to be blogged about. The first treat on the list is Toffee Apple Cupcakes. I got this recipe from 'Eat Me' by Cookie Girl. It is really really simple, and if you're struggling then you're just not made to bake. Officially, these little cupcakes are perfect for any Halloween event you're attending.
Ingredients:
25 toffee pieces
6oz apple. Peeled, cored and chopped
1tsp baking powder
4oz self raising flour
2 large eggs
4oz demerara sugar
4oz unsalted butter, room temp.
7-10tbsp of milk
12 lolly sticks
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 180c/350F/Gas4
Line a 12 hole non-stick muffin tray with paper muffin cases.
Cream butter and sugar together. Stir in the eggs followed by the chopped apple. I like to chop my apple very very fine, but it's up to you. Sift in the flour and baking powder.
Once the mix has been stirred, divide the mix between the paper cases and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 min or until the tops feel springy to the top. This means, once it feels fluffy.
Remove cupcakes and leave to cool in a wire rack.
To make coating place toffee in a pan with several spoons of milk. Stir until it's creamy and smooth. Add more milk if needed. Stir in low heat. Take your time.
Pour on top of your cupcakes and add a lolly stick. Yum!
Kudos toffee, you never disappoint! Xx

Boutique Funk
Boutiques in London are incredible, but why?
Because they need to..
In a city like London it is easy to come across different boutiques that sell unique pieces from different international fashion designers. The key nowadays, is to stay interesting and sell at the same time, so that can be tough to accomplish in times like these. The beauty of Londoners is that they love uniqueness. If it's something nobody has, they want it, they crave it.
Well, here's what I crave from my favourite boutiques. I want want want!
Leave everything you're doing. Check this jacket out. It is a man's jacket I know, but the shape and the colour reminded me of a world of candy floss clouds, where all that people wear are these jackets. It's like tacky Chinese material made cool. And I like it.
Brown's is the best place for buying shoes. That doesn't mean that they don't have other amazing accessories. This hat is perfect for the fall. The colour reminds me of the fallen leaves, and if I straighten my hair and leave a pretty fringe, it will make me look like the 60s version of Cher.
Sometimes when you live in London you forget about colours. We tend to be dragging shades of grey and black in an attempt to survive through the seasons without having to buy tons of things. Let me tell you, a colourful dress is almost as important as an LBD. Let the colours do their job...
The other day my flatmate saw Vivienne Westwood in the park. How cool is that? I admire her so much, she does not care about what people say. These jeans, say exactly that. Take that suckers...
Next on my list are these leggings. Makes me think of myself at the age of 60, trying them on and not succeeding. It will be a good laugh for my grandchildren..
Buy them at Diverse Clothing.
There is nothing to say except PINK. i love it!!!
This Alexander McQueen ring is definitely on this list because it is funky. I love skulls. Everybody should love them, we all have one!
Python and suede. What a great shoe combination. That's all I need.
Listening to too much Ke$ha has made me love boots more than ever.
Yeehaaa!
Funky fresh..

Bossaball- The new sport
My mum loves my blog. She reads it on a daily basis, bless her. So, like any other mother, she started giving me suggestions for the blog.
Mothers don't really give suggestions, they impose their knowledge on you, but that's cool because my mum is cool. Enough that she took the time to give me a whole lecture on a new sport I have never heard about before, Bossaball.
Bosaball is a sport played by two teams, which is pretty standard, but everything from the rules to the 'pitch' are completely new and awesome if you ask me.
This sport combines volleyball, football, capoeira, gymnastics and other contorsions. The best part? It is played in an inflatable surface! How cool is that? It's like being 5 all over again, well not quite.
The reason why Bosaball has become so popular is because it can literally be played anywhere. At the beach, indoors, in a park.. as long as you have the inflatable surface, you're covered.
I was shocked to find that there is not a Bossaball club in London. There are plenty around the Netherlands, Brazil, Belgium and even Kuwait, but no sign of London. Come on Londoners, let's make this happen!!!! I want it soooo bad!!!!
Visit the website and I promise you are going to wanna play!!!!
Kudos Mum, you rock! Xx

La Durée @ Harrods
The Parisian tearoom established in 1862 has made its way to London.
Harrods has become the new home for La Durée, famous for their iconic macaroons and their tea.
Located on the ground floor, the shop has an outdoor terrace for the sunnier days and beautiful decoration, just like anything at Harrods.
I invite you to go to the Heure du Thé (tea time) and enjoy some of their delicious macaroons. I recommend to try the vanilla, green apple and caramel flavours!

Boyfriend Shoes
My pick of the sexiest brogues and shoes pimped for girls.
Obviously these pink brogues were my first choice. I mean, the bubblegum pink is amazing. The thing is that brogues are the new heels, specially during the fall. They are comfortable, and designers around the world have taken over and come up with better brogue designs; more varied and fun.
Shoes with sequins? I'm in!..
I love this pair of Gucci brogues. The colour is simple, and classic. For me, this is the authentic boyfriend shoe.
I am not so sure about these, but there is something that makes me want to wear them. I would feel like Kanye West. Maybe that's what's bothering me...
So, that's the story of my loafers and brogues. A pair must be bought, they are key to the season. If you are not so sure about brogues, just go and try a pair..
