Song of the Day. Thirteen Thirty Five

Dillon saved my weekend. This song saved my weekend.
She is super cool, with her mysterious voice. I love the depth of this song and the simplicity in it..so basic yet so beautiful..

Song of the Day. Get Me Home

I was in the car and then suddenly, #Kisstory started. For those of you who don't live in the UK, Kiss FM is the place where the magic happens. Musically, it never disappoints. At least never during #Kisstory hour.
So here is some Foxy Brown, throwing signals 'cos she digs you like that :)

So fierce <3.

It's All In Your Head

The weekend is over and we are back to Monday... I am pretty glad considering I had the worst weekend ever!
I mean, it was OK, but truth is I am very very confused. Ideas in my head, people annoying me, and the lack of sleep... i was a ticking bomb..
So, the best way to hide the ideas in my head is to find stuff to wear.. in my head. I have high hopes, maybe this will make me feel different.
hmm..

First I have a few choices from New Look. I like to shop there because it's affordable, and they usually have really cute accessories. In my opinion they are the only 'high street' shop that has stayed true to students. They have student discount, and their prices make it easy for anybody to buy new accessories every season!

How cute are these? Perfect for the winter :)

In case you're a fan of Mad Men..

Everybody needs a knitted hat this winter! New Look has them in almost every colour.

Let's move on to Topshop, the place where anything is possible. I love that feeling of walking into Topshop (with enough money to spend) and go wild.. ohhh the memories.. I haven't stepped in Oxford St in ages. That happens when you have lived in London long enough. Avoid crowds at all cost..

wide brim bow cloche, midnight blue

This is exactly what my brain looks like right now.. And i want to wear it!

This bow makes me want to smile, and for some reason eat toffee.. and something filled with custard. yum.

This pearl hair band is from JOY. I might wear it for a night of jazz and fancy cocktails..

A knitted hat, again.. it's only going to get colder people! Plus knitted hats are perfect companions for winter hangovers. You know, the part when you feel like dying but you're too hungry to lie in bed any longer.. Put a knitted hat on and venture to the nearest Diner, cafe, McD (only if you make it for breakfast)!

H&M has them all!

Last but not least, I want to feel like I have just returned from the mission of a lifetime! And Zara has made the perfect hat for it.. It's very Nico.

I just need a distraction. Maybe I should join the circus...

A House is a Home

Autumn rocks. i know it, you know it, even my gran knows it.
So many reasons why, but mainly I guess autumn has that magic charm where we all want to do DIY. Or arts and crafts. Or all of the above.
I think it's the weather change. I would much rather drink some hot cider at home, turn the fire on, do some online shopping,etc.. Rather than being sitting in a pub that stinks of beer and where my chances of slipping and dying of a head injury are increased by a zillion.

I am staying to decorate the house.
Londoners tend to live in small apartments, sharing, crowded. Hey, lucky you if you live outside zone 2, but sucks to pay transport.. muahaha! Anyhow, it is important to feel at home. Make your place, big or small, your own.

This is what I'm going for..

I live with other people. Thankfully everyone is a daaawwwlin', but there are those who are unlucky. Use these speech bubbles to say how you really feel. AKA, clean the toilet, or my personal favourite 'stop leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, pigeons have made it into the house'.. lolz

Let's make popcorn! two words (sort of): Sunday Fun-day!

Looking at this clock everyday reinforces my dream of having my own ice cream truck.. imagine the fun..

Big cities are full of charm, but also full of a-holes. I am not one of those people because I own this stamp set. I always say Gracias!

Now, with this acrylic red glass I have two choices. One. Make a toast for the douchebags, Kanye style or watch True Blood's next season and fill the glass with something that resembles blood. Vampire Pam would do it...

If there is one thing I have learnt about flat sharing is, BUY COASTERS. People never really think they need them, but trust me... you do! The more coasters, the better. Those things are like the pennies of home decoration. I've found coasters under the sofa, under the fridge, between drawers and even in my washing. So, stock up!

This sign is actually called 'Chocolate this way'. I want it so I can trick some fools into thinking my chocolate treasures are in a cupboard pointed by the arrow. Guess what? NAT! This is the beginning of a Marco Polo game but with chocolate..

Crayons. Mustard and ketchup. I won't do it like a kid, i'll do it .. like a boss!! Guaranteed if I buy these I will try to write with them or something...

I live in a building full of flats. The area around me is just flats.. so .. no gardens. Boooo
The nearest park is one minute away, but it's not really a park, just a piece of green and a place for people to do things like eat lunch during the week, or do tai chi or whatever that guy does there every morning...
A lot of things go on in that park, but not a lot of birds.. London is infested with pigeons and I hate them. Rats of the skies.. ugh
I still want this bird house. For my imaginary birds, or just for when I decide to move to an aviary. you never know...

I heart HEARTS..

If there is ever a romantic moment at home. Buy candles! Like coasters, people underestimate them! Electricity might die, (nahh that never happens in London), but you might get a booty call. That is more likely.. so candles.. buy them..

Let's discuss storage. I never have enough space. That's the problem with living in a big city. Big possibilities, big prices, big shopping spree, but little space..
It's not like the box below is the Narnia of boxes, (which I assume is a box that can store a lot of things, like a fairytale land) but it's still pretty cute. Boxes with designs are cool because you don't have to hide them in the back of your closet. These boxes can be used as part of home deco.. I have one on my living room shelf, it's filled with papers and my hoarding treasures, but nobody knows that because on the outside it's just another pretty blond.. sorry .. box.. hehe

Home is where the heart is. :) Your home deco should reflect your dreams, memories, aspirations and interests! Don't let it be dull...

The Sapphires Premiere

Last night I had the luck to be invited to a film premiere in Leicester Square. As you know, the glamorous life never really follows me, so when these things happen, I go wild!
The movie was The Sapphires, an australian film about music, love and pretty much being yourself.
It has been a while since I sat down at the cinema and I truly enjoyed a film. Nowadays, everything is remakes, sequels, prequels and Twilight, so spending two hours staring at a screen is not normal for me.
If I could recommend any movie this year, The Sapphires is that movie. The acting is great, it has the perfect amount of funny jokes, music (without making it boring), and love... and that tall Irish guy from the IT crowd and Bridesmaids!
It is cheesy and cute, but if you think about it, the movie was adapted from a Musical, so it was highly entertaining.

I usually hate musical movies. I mean, kill me now but I hated Moulin Rouge, I hated DREAMGIRLS OMG I HATED IT!!!! Ever so boring!!!!
So, I was a bit skeptical about this particular film...
However, the message is beautiful, and the attendees (me included) shook their heads to every tune. That is a good sign. :)

WATCH IT!

Here's the trailer if you wanna check it out!

Song of the Day. Better Off this Way

Today is all about moving on. So let's do so by listening to this really old track I found on my old ipod.. (so much for moving on)
I must have sang this drunk over the phone to a few unlucky lovers, but it's 2012 now so let's embrace the fact I was an awkward teenager like most, with an eclectic music taste.

Popping into Pop!

A couple of weeks ago I went to check out the Pop art exhibition taking place at the Fashion and Textile Museum.
There has never been a time where I wanted so desperately to be old.. Just to have been able to wear all those funky clothes in the 60s!
What made this experience truly special is not the clothes or the smell of old clothes as you walk in. The show does a great job of showing how youth, culture and fashion have inspired the way many things are today and how they were perceived back then.

Freedom, peace, equality !

A skiffle board.. bring it back!!

Song of the Day. Goodbye

Ugh. I hate to say goodbye..
Sometimes, there is just no other way. This is exactly what goodbye sounds like.
Surprisingly it's pretty, in a dark and sad way.
So goodbye to you...
