Scarves and Belts. Our money melts!

I love buying accessories. Belts and scarves fit in that category. The timing is perfect :)

Primary colours. It never dies, it keeps coming back and this time it's a triple belt!
Levi's Made and Crafted, colour block belt

Braided belts are always meant to be part of your closet. My choice is a classic brown belt. It's worth buying a good quality leather one that will last for years and years!.

The thing I love the most about fashion nowadays is the ability to put words to things. This love/hate belt is super. Anyone else feeling the 90s slowly crawling back into our lives? Clarissa would have so worn this...

Three words. Dotty Skinny Belt. Don't have one? Go buy one. These belts are awesome for days when you want to dress up, or wear a skirt, or you just feel like dancing the Castle Rock.

Scarf and with a toucan. This had always been a dream of mine you know? To own bird-themed stuff. Guess I was born in the right time then..

This floral-patterned scarf is so pretty. I want it because then that way I will never forget about those sunny summers..

This scarf is called 'Eternity' and I want it... for eternity.. duh..
I'm not usually big on yellow, but this looks really good. Like southern good..

See? now it's owls. Birds are everywhere... keep em coming!

Red Dog Saloon. My Hot Wing Challenge

Hoxton is home to the Red Dog Saloon, a place where the service is not that great, but we all go because it's in a trendy area and what not.
What makes this place stand out, apart from selling pulled pork and overpriced drinks is their hot wing challenge. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the place is nice, but when living in London one tends to settle and 'accept' that as long as a place is in a good location and serves food, we will go and we will eat it. No matter what

Anyway, about the challenge..

6 wings covered with a ridiculously hot sauce made from Naga Viper chillies.
10 minutes to eat them, and then 5 extra minutes to sit there and suffer. No water, nothing. Just a glass of milk once you are done.

My time? 1 min 26 sec. I didn't make it to the board, but at least I got the t-shirt! By the way, the first place belongs to someone who completed the challenge in 37 seconds! My guess? He cheated.. hahaha
As a Mexican, unless you have the chewing skills of a white shark, I don't know if 30 seconds are realistic. Anyway, good for him!

Go, try it out. Challenge your friends and challenge yourself!

Song of the Day. Midnight City (Cover)

Today is disgusting. If you live in London, I know you agree. The wind is blowing strong, my jacket is wet and my dream of fall just hasn't quite materialised.
Fall is all about wearing checked shirts, men growing beards, wellies and knee-high socks, crunching leaves.. I mean, what is this lousy attempt of grey skies and bad-tempered people? I know it's Monday, but take a chill pill. Or even better, listen to this track.

This cover of M83's Midnight City is the 'cartoon' version. Listening to it makes cartoon birds and squirrels appear and follow you around. Yes, like in Enchanted!

tata tataaaaaa... tata tataaaa...

So let's be happy and move on :)

Oxjam Islington: Fundraising Fun Fest at The County Arms, Wandsworth

Thursday, 20th of September...
I wish I could have posted this sooner, but unfortunately the day only has 24 hrs and that sucks.
So tomorrow, there is a great event taking place south of the river. The organiser of this incredible night is Moonika Kargenberg, who is not only a recent events graduate, but also a fantastic human being who loves helping others. :)
So tonight Oxjam, Moonika and some wonderful volunteers have a great evening planned for anybody who is up for it. A mixture of music, comedy, drinks.. doesn't get much better.

Here's what's happening:

1. Kids events are taking place in the morning, cupcakes, fun and games!  It's good to know that these activities take place around London. Take note parents!

2. Quiz, Live Music and Raffle. Whoever wins the quiz gets a 50 pound bar tab yei!

3. Live Comedy by Chris Gilbert and Stefano Paolini and the RH Experience.

There is more to come from the Oxjam festival, but details will be delivered later.. in the meantime, go check out what's going on and help a good cause while doing it.
Also, if you're feeling like donating please do so on Moonika's justgiving page.

Do it!

Song of the Day. Heymoonshaker

Not one, but two songs today!
While you listen, I will go and get my whisky and sit quietly by the dying sun.. (what sun lolz)
This voice, this beat, this attitude..
Not only is the style totally new, refreshing and fun. It's also way better than listening to that same shizzle on the top 40. I mean, when X Factor winners have number ones you know things are not going too well..

Heymoonshaker rocks my blues heart...

Looks like London

Absence makes the heart grow fonder they say.
I am back, I've just been about, you know figuring out life. Sometimes one needs to step away from the computer (or phone for that matter) and take it all in. Go out, talk to someone, even if it's the Starbuck's guy.. Have an argument with a random cyclist who is close to running you over, buy some froyo. Sit in the park, do something. Go out..

So I followed my own advise and I walked and walked until my feet gave up and my Smiths playlist died...
This is what happened..

the beautiful little park @ Richmond Place

It's not all heads and dead bodies here! But don't go walking about late...

Regent's Canal
And don't you love people's random faces?! I hate those photographers that expect the streets to be empty to find the 'perfect shot'. Nothing says London like crazy faces..

Don't take your city for granted people! Go out!
