AVEDA Sun Protect

The summer is almost here. A lot of you might be thinking of going abroad to a sexy, warm beach. Your plans will involve drinking, partying and a lot of sun.
I have always struggled to find the right product to protect my hair and skin from the sun. Some of them just dry my hair and face even more, and others are just greasy, creating like a 'magnetic bubble' of chemicals to protect my hair.
Fortunately, I discovered my solution. Aveda Sun Protect. Their full range protects from sun, salt and chlorine damage.
Your hair will be shinier than ever, and SOFT! And your skin will be tanned and there will be no skin pealing off you as if you were a snake..
the best thing about Aveda products is that all of them are environmentally friendly, so no hard chemicals will touch you and you will be helping the environment. Everybody wins.

Kudos Aveda Sun Protect!
Also, if you buy the whole range, you get a product free!

Sunglasses Block Visual Pollution.

Sunglasses are one of the most amazing accessories in the world. They are just so versatile. Sometimes they are very plain, sometimes very funky, sometimes very weird. I love sunglasses.
This summer, the weather is picking up and wether you are going abroad to sit in the sand of a paradise beach, or staying sunbathing at Regents Park, Sunglasses are a MUST!

I found some cool sunglasses that I will eventually buy. Check them out.

The first pair were designed by Henry Holland, they come in two colours, yellow and pink. These sunnies are just begging to be worn. Plus, they are being sold at Urban Outfitters, and that is OK with me. the price is 141 pounds. Buy em!

This pair is by Prada. They are quite funky, but there is something about this pair that makes me wanna put on a nice summer dress and rock these babes..

I don't know if this pair of D&G sunglasses are new collection or not, but they are amazing. I consider these an alternative option to tortoiseshell, which is so trendy at the time.
It has the same colours as tortoiseshell but it looks a bit different, so if you are an innovator, buy these. This pair can be worn with everything. My choice? These are the ultimate Summer Festival accessory.

There are many more options out there, it is just a matter of finding what suits you best. Remember to ask the shop assistant for a shape that suits your face, don't be a fashion victim. There is nothing worse than trying to pull off a style that does not suit you. Be adventurous, but don't be a fool.

Kudos to sunglasses! xx

Bored to Death. TV is my mistress

Ok. I won't deny I am the BIGGEST TV addict EVA!!!
Just so you can understand how deep my obsession is, I wrote a small list of all the shows that I watch, and well.. it is worrying.

CSI NY
CSI MIAMI
Vampire Diaries
True Blood
Hawaii Five 0
Desperate Housewives
Modern Family
Sanctuary
Eureka
Fringe
NCIS: LA
Body of Proof
Chuck
Castle
The Mentalist., etc..

The list goes on... (really!) So imagine how depressed I tend to be when seasons are over, or worse, when my fav shows get cancelled!
The point is, I did some digging into some of the best TV shows of all time, and I don't watch any of them!!! Like Boardwalk Empire.. never seen it. I don't know, there's something about naked HBO that puts me off...
However, I came across 'Bored To Death'. My salvation. My Jesus.
The show started airing in 2009, but with two short seasons with 20 min episodes, I thought it was worth giving my free time to the cause.

The show was created by Jonathan Ames. It is pretty much about a failed writer who drinks a lot and smokes a lot of weed.
After a bad break up with his ex, he posts an ad on Craig's List offering services as a private detective. Things go sour at times and it is absolutely hilarious.

The show, you see, is produced by HBO. I have this love/hate relationship with HBO. They are magnificent at producing quality tv shows, but sometimes they take their shit all too seriously. Like the Sopranos. They were great at the time, epic and all. Now try watching an episode and you might puke just out of boredom.
Then you have Entourage, which was amazing, but then just went tits when they wanted Vince to date a pornstar.. it was just too late to put that in..

That is why Bored to Death is to TV what The Strokes were to indie music. The show is different, it appeals to a young audience and the cast is incredible. There is occassional nudity, but it is funny nudity, not creepy serious one.
The main character is played by Jason Schwartzman, who has also appeared in Scott Pilgrim VS The World and Funny People.
Other people in the cast include the hilarious Zack Galifianakis, from Due Date and The Hangover and my personal favourite, TED DANSON, (Cheers and Becker) who plays a magazine Editor in his 60s with a big addiction to marihuana and women.
I love the show because it portrays lifestyles and situations that are not fully accepted by society, however I guarantee that one episode will make you want to watch the rest.

Kudos Bored To Death!! xx

Fashion Today: Felicity Brown

After a long weekend partying and eating at Diners with my best friend, it's time to come back.
The other day I came across some designs from Felicity Brown's collection. I was speechless. Everything she designs represents elegance in women with a touch of funky.
The Royal College of Art graduate has worked in the past for Alberta Ferretti, Mulberry and Lanvin, now she is venturing into her own fashion fantasy.
With hand-dyed items and beautiful prints, the collection is aimed at glamorous women who are also poetic.
Have a look at some of her designs and see why she was chosen as the Best New Designer for Harper's Bazaar.

Most of the items are available at Harvey Nichols and Liberty of London.

Kudos Felicity! xx

Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre

My best friend is coming to town again. This time we are celebrating her birthday; and knowing how much she loves to read (she reads A LOT, trust me) I decided to take her somewhere she would really enjoy herself. None of those nights of Margaritas binging anymore!! This time we are going Cultural.. Cooltural.. hmm. Geek.

I was browsing for hours trying to find ANYTHING  she would enjoy. From food festivals and fairs, to concerts and burlesque shows. Ok, the Burlesque was my last resort!
I came across with the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre. Wow. This was really my Golden Ticket.
Their website could be a bit nicer, but it is quite informative.
The museum, which will be running until 2012 has been quite the sensation. It has galleries packed with fun, free crafts activities for everybody, an interactive story centre and of course if you are a kid you get a souvenir. The amazing 'Story Ideas Book' just like the one where Roald Dahl placed his ideas.

I wonder if because it's my friend's birthday she manages to get an Idea Book? Hm. I'll try.

Also, every weekend has a different workshop. This Saturday 7th of May it's 'Discover Dahl's Archives'. I can't wait.

Go to the website to find more information or how to book tickets.

Kudos Roald Dahl.!

Song of the Day..

My song of the Day is Panic! At The Disco 'The Ballad of Mona Lisa'.

This song is increible. The vocals are great, it is catchy and I love the 'mad hatter' attitude that the lead singer always portrays.

Enjoy!

xx

Kudos Panic! At The Disco
